The Sri Lanka Embassy will have a yearlong commemoration of its 75th year of independence which commenced with the Flag Hoisting ceremony on February 4th, 2023. The next event to commemorate this important occasion is the cricket tournament for Sri Lankan expatriates in Oman.

Cricket is not only the most popular sport in Sri Lanka, but it is also an integral part of our culture and heritage. Therefore, we believe that a cricket tournament would be the perfect way to celebrate this milestone in our nation's history. The tournament is scheduled to take place on Friday 28th April 2023, at the Oman Cricket Academy Grounds, in Al Amarat from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.

To make this tournament more exciting and to bring back memories of School Life the 12 teams will represent the various schools in Sri Lanka. These will be not just from the big cities but from the remotest parts of the country. The winner will be awarded the “75th Independence Day Trophy” and medals for each player. The runners up will receive medals and a range of valuable prizes.

BPOS Global is the Event Manager for the event and will manage all communications on behalf of the Embassy.
